Cookie policy

This site sets no cookies of its own. Nothing here follows you between pages, and there is no advertising script on the site today.

What this site sets

Nothing. Every page is static HTML and the server returns no Set-Cookie header on any of them. There is no analytics script, no advertising script, no sign-in and no preference cookie. That is the reason you are not being asked to accept anything when you arrive.

What the host records

The hosting platform records ordinary technical request data, such as the address you connected from and the page you requested, in order to serve the site and keep it available. That is a function of web hosting rather than a cookie, and we do not use it to identify anyone.

Cookies set by vendors

When you follow a link to a software vendor you leave this site, and the vendor’s own cookie policy applies. Affiliate programmes usually set a cookie on the vendor’s domain so that a later purchase is credited to the referring page. Those cookies belong to the vendor or to their affiliate network. We cannot read them, and none of them are set while you are here.

If we add advertising or analytics

Display advertising is the intended second revenue line once traffic supports it. Advertising and analytics scripts do set cookies, and they often read them across other sites. If either is added, this page will be updated before the script goes live, and a consent notice will be shown before any such script runs for a reader in the United Kingdom or the European Union. We will not add a tracking script and then write the policy afterwards.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every current browser lets you view, block and delete cookies. Blocking third-party cookies will stop most affiliate tracking without changing the prices you see on any vendor page, and opening a vendor link in a private window has the same effect.
